Brooks Rexroat | Cross Country / Track and Field
Head Coach
Brooks is head coach for both cross country and track and field . He comes to Bluefield State from Lees-McRae College where he was associate track and field coach from 2019- 2021 .
Rexroat has a Bachelor ’ s degree in communications from Morehead State University and a Master ’ s degree in creative writing from Southern Illinois University . He was also a 2016-2017 Fulbright Scholar in the Russian Federation .
In 2006 he earned USA Track & Field Level 1 coaching certification . In 2008 he earned Level 2 certification in sprints , hurdles and relays .
Brooks began his coaching career with three seasons at Tennessee Tech University where he led women ’ s power event groups . He also was an assistant coach at his alma mater , Morehead State .
Prior to coaching at Lees-McRae , Brooks was an assistant coach for two years at Brescia University in Owensboro , Kentucky .
Rexroat has also coached at the high school level in Kentucky and Ohio .
Lawrence Robinson | Football
Defensive Backs Coach
Lawrence is defensive backs coach . He comes to Bluefield State from Allegheny College .
He is a 2011 graduate of West Liberty University . He lettered all four years as a safety and was a captain his senior year . In 2019 he earned his Master ’ s in Athletics Administration from Ohio University .
Lawrence began his coaching career at Christchurch School ( VA ), then Hargrave Military Academy ( VA ) where he finished as assistant head coach .
In 2018 he earned NCAA recruiting certification . He was then named defensive quality control coach at the College of William & Mary .
